Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly keen on a ‘change of scenery’ in January, according to reports.

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has been out of action for a few months now after he suffered an injury on international duty with the prognosis, according to Erik ten Hag, being that the former Real Madrid star wouldn’t return until Christmas, at the earliest.

Ten Hag brought in Casemiro for around £60 million last summer and the Brazilian was vital as the Red Devils went on an unbeaten run over Christmas and New Year and United briefly believed they were in the title picture.

This season, however, the 31-year-old has struggled hugely which has led to questions being asked about his future.

Casemiro’s offer

According to a report from Spanish outlet MARCA, an ‘important offer’ for the midfielder has arrived which would see the Brazilian leave the Red Devils in January.

Saudi Arabian clubs are believed to be the front runners for his signature and the midfielder has been considering a ‘change of scenery’ recently which could suit United.

A report from the Daily Mail claimed that John Murtough, United’s director of football, flew out to the Middle Eastern country looking to strike a deal to sell one of their top earners to generate funds, Casemiro being one of them.

Saudi Pro League sides could be ready to offer United a big amount to take the midfielder off their hands according to the Spanish outlet, which could be ideal for the Old Trafford club.

United are open to selling him, particularly after it emerged that Sir Jim Ratcliffe would not have pursued that deal had he owned the club at that time.

Casemiro’s time is up

The Brazilian was one of United’s best players last season and the importance of the defensive midfielder could be seen when he was missing due to suspension.

He has made just 12 appearances for United this season, however, with the midfielder last featured on the 1st of November for the Red Devils.

Spending £60 million on the midfielder was a risk and United are paying for that risk. A move away from the club is looking more and more likely as time goes on.
