It looks increasingly likely that United are going to really struggle to get a few deals over the line in this window.

One player that fans and the club alike are desperate to get over the line is Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but it’s only been the last day or two that United have really stepped up their bid.

However, we say ‘stepped up’, their first proposal was nothing short of laughable. The proposed offer was a loan deal, which saw Fiorentina receive £2m from United.

For arguably their best player last season, this offer is simply laughable and it was no surprise to see it firmly rejected.

Sofyan Amrabat was integral for Fiorientina

Amrabat has been a the heart of everything good at the Italian club for some time now. His best position appears to be the holding midfield role, but best believe that doesn’t mean he has an impact further up the pitch.

Best described as a ‘deep-lying playmaker’, the 27-year-old is an astute all-rounder who would fit in perfectly in United’s midfield.

We view him as an upgrade to Fred. A mobile player that is a jack of all traits, but master of none – in a good way.

Players like this are vastly important, as can slot in multiple roles, while still maintaining peak performance.

Just look at his stats…

His stats speak for themselves, in most areas he was leaps and bounds above the rest at Fiorentina.

He’s leaps and bounds above the rest for his side in many different departments. It really does make you feel embarrassed with the offer sent over.

To try and prise arguably their finest talent on a measly loan fee is really embarrassing and no ‘big club’ should have to deal with this.

Nevertheless, we’re really hoping this deal can get over the line. We’re going to need him this season, no doubt.
