Inter Milan have been urged to cash in on Andre Onana to Manchester United, amid talks between the clubs.

Manchester United have held talks with Inter Milan over a move for Andre Onana, Gazzetta dello Sport reported this week.

The Cameroon international goalkeeper played a key role for Inter last season, helping them to win the Champions League final.

Uncertainty continues over the future of David de Gea, whose Manchester United contract expires at midnight tonight (June 30).

Why Andre Onana sale is good for Inter Milan

Quoted by FCInter1908, Sky Italia journalist Riccardo Gentile has explained why Inter will accept a suitable offer which comes in for Onana.

He said: “Inter are doing well. The Onana operation is a good signal, the ability to go and get him for free and resell it at that figure, is a crazy market operation.

“If an offer like that comes you can’t say no to make ends meet, that’s how it works.”

Alfredo Pedulla reports Inter Milan are looking for a fee of £52 million total including add-ons.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi is said to be ‘not happy’ at losing Onana, but understands the necessity of cashing in to raise funds, via Gazzetta.

Andre Onana worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, so the Manchester United manager knows exactly what he would be getting, the attributes he brings to the table, including superior passing and distribution to David de Gea.

Inter are currently looking at various replacement options for Onana, awaiting a bid from Manchester United, while Gianluca Di Marzio reports today (June 30) could be a decisive day.
