Manchester United’s goalkeeping situation has been fiercely debated over the past week after the 1-0 loss to Arsenal.
For Ruben Amorim, a new goalkeeper has likely shot into his priority list following a not convincing outing against Arsenal by Altay Bayindir.
Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at Old Trafford last week, however the general consensus is that United were much better than the Gunners.
The game was decided by Arsenal scoring from a Bayindir mistake, however upon review, Mark Clattenburg admitted it shouldn’t have counted due to a foul.
Following the game, Amorim supported Bayindir, defending him in the press. However, Bayindir was slammed by Gordon Hill who wasn’t impressed by the Turkish goalkeeper.
This all sparked a desire for Andre Onana to return.

Ruben Amorim says Andre Onana is ready to play against Fulham
With Bayindir struggling and once again made a costly error which has led to a week of fans suggesting that a new goalkeeper be brought in.
However, while Bayindir may not be at all good enough in terms of his traditional shot stopping ability, Andre Onana potentially might be.
Now, while speaking to press ahead of Sunday’s trip to Craven Cottage, Amorim has revealed injury news for United.
“Andre Onana is ready to play like last week, so we will see in the game who is going to be the goalkeeper.”
Continuing, Amorim admitted that he has pretty much a fully fit squad.
“Licha [Martínez] is out, Nous Mazraoui] is out. The rest of the guys are fit.”
Manchester United targeting a new goalkeeper
While Onana has shown signs of the quality number one we know he can be, the consistency has let him down.
Making matters worse is that Bayindir has been totally unreliable over the past six months after a strong January.
As a result, United are now in talks to sign Senne Lammens as Fabrizio Romano has revealed, with personal terms already wrapped up.
Lammens might not be an immediate starter, but he would push Onana and offer Amorim a much better fall back option who is among the best emerging goalkeepers in Europe.
