Manchester United have been on the cusp of completing a second summer signing for weeks, and Rio Ferdinand is losing patience.
For fans around the world, the past month has been frustrating.
After a red-hot start to the summer transfer window, which saw Matheus Cunha signed for £62.5m on June 1st, which raised expectations on Ineos for the remainder of the window.
However, Cunha was the earliest signing in more than a decade, making him an exception instead of being the rule, and since then, it has been a tiresome month of countless targets being linked.
United have been in talks to sign one player in particular, but Rio Ferdinand is now getting fed up with waiting and has urged Ineos to complete the deal.

Rio Ferdinand wants Manchester United to wrap up Bryan Mbeumo
The pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo has defined United’s summer so far.
After a first bid was presented in early June, the saga of Mbeumo to United has lasted over a month, which has unsurprisingly led to frustration and United fans getting fed up.
Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel, the legendary defender has now spoken about the Mbeumo deal and admitted that United simply must wrap up the signing.
“Manchester United have to find a way of reaching Brentford’s valuation. I think the proposal is £55m with £7.5m in add-ons, which isn’t enough for Brentford.
“I think Manchester United have to get this done, it’s been in the news far too long for it to get to a situation where it doesn’t happen. I think that would be an egg on the face situation for United.
“I’d be surprised if this deal doesn’t go through. United have been adamant, it’s gone public, they’ve allowed that to happen, and they’re now in a position where they’ve got to make a move to get this over the line.
“He fits the bill for me, physically, he’s dynamic, and he scores goals in the Premier League, he knows the Premier League. Watch this space.”
Manchester United’s negotiating power for Mbeumo has been lost
Mbeumo picked United for his next club as he dreams of playing at Old Trafford; however, the club has not held up their end in paying the required fee for a player of his quality.
Mbeumo had an incredible season for Brentford, and they are well within their rights to want a total package of £65m for their prized asset this summer.
United’s argument to the contrary has also been washed down the drain, with Newcastle paying £55m for Anthony Elanga, and Tottenham paying the same for Mohammed Kudus, both of whom are not as good as Mbeumo.
All signs indicate that Mbeumo to United is on the cusp of being completed and that in the coming days we should really get it over the line.
But this cannot happen in subsequent transfer pursuits.
