Manchester United face a battle to sign Rasmus Hojlund with Paris Saint-Germain offering an interesting exchange deal.
United are now turning full focus towards signing a new striker.
Midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana are on board so a centre forward is next on the list of priorities.
Another midfielder – preferably somebody who can cover for Casemiro – would be ideal if funds allow for it.
The priority is a centre forward though with United potentially selling a few players to fund a big move.
Dean Henderson and Anthony Elanga seem primed to go whilst Fred and Donny van de Beek are attracting interest.
That should free up cash for a new striker with Atalanta hitman Hojlund the main target.
Manchester United focusing on Rasmus Hojlund
Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund is the top target with United seemingly seeing huge potential in the Denmark international.
Hojlund scored 10 goals in all competitions for Atalanta last season and United are seemingly ready to move.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Fabrizio Romano reports that personal terms have already been agreed between United and will submit an official bid soon.
The hope is that United will soon be able to bring Hojlund to Old Trafford and hopefully add the goalscorer of the future.
However, United may need to keep one eye on Paris Saint-Germain…
PSG plot swap deal to sign Hojlund
Campos is allegedly even willing to send striker Hugo Ekitike to Atalanta as part of the deal.
PSG only signed Ekitike last summer, landing the wonderkid striker from Stade de Reims on loan.
The 21-year-old only started 12 league games last season and finished the campaign with three goals and four assists in Ligue 1.
PSG don’t seem entirely convinced by Ekitike just yet and could offer him up to Atalanta for Hojlund.
That’s something that may appeal to the Serie A side and could leave United fearing losing out on the Dane.
Let’s just hope that PSG are so preoccupied with Kylian Mbappe’s future that there is a window of opportunity for United to pounce.
