Harry Kane might be the safest best in Manchester United’s hunt for a striker this summer.
Harry Kane is a proven Premier League goalscorer who has extra motivation to break the division’s all time scoring record and win trophies for the first time in his career.
Dealing with Tottenham is expected to be difficult. A report this week via The Times claim they want £100 million in one payment to do a deal.
There may be hope of a new United strategy, thanks to Tottenham’s reported interest in Dean Henderson.

Potential swap deal
Like Manchester United, Tottenham are approaching a possible end of an era in goal. They are expected to move on from Hugo Lloris and target a new number one.
According to ESPN, a name near the very top of their list is Manchester United’s Dean Henderson.
Henderson is not expected to have much of a future at United. If David de Gea stays, Henderson will almost definitely be sold.
And even if De Gea goes, the expectation is that United will recruit a new handpicked goalkeeper by Erik ten Hag – not Dean Henderson.
Henderson is an asset to United financially. The club could fetch anywhere between £25 million and £40 million for a goalkeeper who aims to still establish himself as England’s number one.
If Tottenham are keen on Henderson, then the possibility of a player plus cash swap deal for Harry Kane could work out.
This would reduce the cash expenditure on Kane to £75 million or less- a fee which is a lot more amenable and will make the England international look like excellent value for money. Especially if the outlay ends up more like £60 million.
ESPN report the mutual interest in deals could bring both clubs together, noting: “Spurs’ interest in Henderson could encourage Levy to be more open to talks over a deal for Kane.
Whether the deals end up being done together, or separately, there could be plenty to discuss which works for both parties.
And while Tottenham interest in Henderson may depend on their new manager, it is long standing, first reported by __ in 2019.
Whoever their manager is next season, Harry Kane’s decision to leave for a new challenge may already be made up.
