The final days of the summer transfer window will be busy for Manchester United.
Manchester United welcomed four new signings to the club this summer, while struggling to get rid of unwanted players who are not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans.
It doesn’t help the mood that exists around Old Trafford that the start of the 2025/26 season hasn’t quite gone to plan, with United winless after three games.
Following United’s defeat to Grimsby Town on penalties, the Red Devils are out of the Carabao Cup, a competition they last won in 2022 during Erik ten Hag’s first season as manager.
United are still trying to secure moves for several players, including Antony, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Hojlund and Tyrell Malacia.
Chelsea agreed a deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho on Thursday night, with the Argentine forward set to complete his switch to Stamford Bridge after falling out of favour under Amorim.

Napoli reach agreement with Man Utd over Rasmus Hojlund
United prioritised the search for a striker this summer following two seasons with Hojlund leading the line.
The Denmark international managed to score just 26 goals across all competitions, but the writing was on the wall when United signed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
As a result, Hojlund has not played a minute of football this season.
United In Focus understands that Napoli have reached an agreement with United over Hojlund, who will move to Italy on loan. Still, a permanent contract has also been agreed with the 22-year-old striker.
We can confirm that the deal includes the option to become permanent, but also an obligation that sees the deal become permanent if Napoli qualify for the Champions League.
Hojlund accepted the loan move as Napoli have already agreed a five-year deal with him, running until 2030, showing they fully plan on bringing him to the club permanently.
Napoli will pay £35 million to make the move, which represents a huge 50% loss on the player who arrived from Atalanta in 2023 in a deal worth £72 million.
Antonio Conte insisted on Hojlund after seeing Romelu Lukaku ruled out until next year with a thigh injury.
In conversation with United In Focus, Graeme Bailey revealed: “Once Rasmus Hojlund knew that there was a permanent deal included, I am told that was the key – he was more than happy to finalise his move. He had spoken to Antonio Conte and he can’t wait to play for him.
“Conte believes he can get the best out of Hojlund and is excited by the prospect.”
Hojlund looking to replicate Scott McTominay’s story
Scott McTominay left United over a year ago before leading Conte’s Napoli side to Serie A glory.
The Scotland international was voted Serie A’s most valuable player before earning a nomination for the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
Hojlund will be aiming to replicate McTominay’s rise to prominence in Italy this season.
Everyone at United will wish the Dane the very best with his move to Napoli. It’s a shame things didn’t work out at Old Trafford.
