Napoli are actively pursuing a deal to sign Rasmus Hojlund.
The last two years have been difficult for Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United.
It’s not entirely the striker’s fault that he arrived at a club with a shortage of strikers, but it was evident over the past two seasons that Hojlund is not the man to lead the attacking line-up for United.
The 22-year-old has managed to score just 26 goals in his first two seasons at Old Trafford, managing just 10 across all competitions last term.
Ruben Amorim bolstered his attacking department in the summer transfer window, and the signing of Benjamin Sesko has put Hojlund’s future at United in further doubt.
Hojlund was left out of the squad for the first game of the season as United lost 1-0 against Arsenal.
It remains to be seen if Hojlund will be selected for the squad that takes on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Napoli closing in on Rasmus Hojlund
Serie A champions Napoli have stepped up their search for a new striker following Romelu Lukaku’s injury.
Lukaku could be out for three to four months, ruling him out of Serie A’s opening stages and the group phase of the Champions League.
The Belgian will be a massive loss in Antonio Conte’s frontline after scoring 14 goals and registering 10 assists as Napoli were crowned Serie A champions last term.
Lukaku’s injury has led to Napoli switching their attention to Hojlund.
Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided a further update stating that Napoli are now advancing in talks to sign Hojlund. The talks are now deemed ‘positive’ which suggests the Dane is warming to the idea of leaving Old Trafford.
United are ready to get the deal done once Hojlund and Napoli agree on personal terms.
Hojlund can rekindle Scott McTominay bromance
When Hojlund and Scott McTominay were teammates at United, it was often joked that they shared a bromance.
The pair became close friends after Hojlund joined United from Atalanta.
Now, McTominay could find himself welcoming Hojlund into the Napoli dressing room.
McTominay became a Napoli icon last season after helping deliver the Italian league title in his first season at the club.
