Valencia starlet Javi Guerra has been likened to Kaka amid reported interest from Premier League giants Manchester United.
In fact, former Los Che hero David Albelda goes as far as to suggest that one of La Liga’s breakout talents possesses something the 2007 Ballon D’Or winner did not.
In addition to his ball-carrying prowess, his lock-picking talents and his fierce long-range shooting, Javi Guerra is also a prodigious hard-worker. An attribute which should endear him to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag as much as any other.

Manchester United keen on Valencia’s Javi Guerra
“(The Valencia youngsters) have all shown signs because they have not been a flash in the pan. They are progressing. The one I see most established (in the first-team) is Guerra,” Albeda tells Cadena Cope, a youthful Los Che side coming of age in Spain’s top flight.
“Javi Guerra, apart from everything he gives you and his scoring ability, is nice to watch for a fan. He is tall, fast, can dribble, and run back and forth. He is very interesting, both for us and – unfortunately – for the big teams.”
According to Marca, Manchester United and Newcastle are among those watching Guerra closely. With his rangy 6ft 2ins frame, his balletic stride and his mop of dark brown hair, comparisons with former AC Milan, Real Madrid and Brazil star Kaka come as no real surprise, though Albelda is keen to point out that Guerra’s talents are not merely limited to his on-ball work.
‘Better than Kaka’
“There is something he has better than Kaka,” Albelda adds. “Which is defensive work-rate. Javi does it. He has a brutal physical potential.”
A Spain U21 international, Guerra is averaging a goal or an assist every other game in La Liga this term. A potential long-term replacement for the ageing Christian Eriksen at Old Trafford – alongside Benfica’s Joao Neves and Royal Antwerp’s Arthur Vermeeren – Guerra has an £87 million release clause in his Valencia contract with Valencia’s sporting director insisting that there are no plans to let him go for less.
