Reports from Italy continue to push Manchester United’s advancing move for Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae.

Italian newspaper Il Mattino has reported over the weekend that the move is ‘practically concluded’ between Manchester United and Kim Min-Jae.

The report provides details of a supposed agreement of wages at 9 million Euros per year, which breaks down at £7.8 million, just over £150,000 per week.

United are even said to have located a home for Kim Min-Jae to move into when he signs.

Manchester United must pay Kim Min-Jae release clause

Napoli are sticking to their guns that if Manchester United want to sign Kim Min-Jae, they must pay the release clause.

This can only be activated between July 1 and 15, so even if everything is ‘practically concluded’ between club and player, United can’t get the deal over the line yet.

Napoli are not interested in a swap deal involving Victor Lindelof, Il Mattino report, preferring the cash.

This is actually better for United. Victor Lindelof is an important squad player, as he is currently proving, and it is Harry Maguire who is the player who will be making way.

Background on Kim Min-Jae move

Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb claimed back in January that Manchester United were ‘serious’ about a summer move for the South Korea international.

His agents told Star News this week that United have been watching the centre-back ever since 2019 when he was playing for Beijing Guoan.

They did stress that nothing with United was currently done, although you would expect them to say this publicly at this stage.

French outlet RMC Sport report Paris Saint-Germain have been in touch with Kim Min-Jae’s representatives recently, only to be told he prefers a move to the Premier League.
