Manchester United transfer news: Khephren Thuram is of interest to Erik ten Hag’s side.
Manchester United’s need for a young defensive midfielder is becoming an increasingly important one.
Casemiro is arguably the best in the world at the position, however, there is no depth at Old Trafford behind him.
French outlet RMC Sport report Manchester United are now showing interest in a potential candidate, Khephren Thuram.

Manchester United keen on Khephren Thuram
Khephren Thuram is an interesting candidate as a potential signing. At 22, he is a good age to make the step up, and his career is clearly on the rise.
Over the recent international break the 6ft 4″ midfielder made his France debut in a 4-0 win over Wout Weghorst‘s Netherlands.
Khephren is the brother of Borussia Moenchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, who was linked by SportBild with a January move to Manchester United ahead of becoming a free agent this summer.
Unfortunately Khephren Thuram will cost a little more. He is under contract until 2025. RMC report he could be priced around £33 million this summer, which is still reasonable for a player at his position and of his talent profile.
Intriguingly, he plays for French side Nice, owned by Manchester United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos.
This season he has played 29 games in Ligue 1, contributing two goals and four assists from his position.
His manager at Nice, Didier Digard, has lauded him as a ‘great professional’, while assistant Frederic Gioria told RMC: “tactically he has made enormous progress.”
The Mail has reported late last year that Manchester United competitors Newcastle have been showing interest, and competition for his signature will increase now he is a France international. This is one to watch heading into the summer.
