News and notes around the latest Manchester United transfer activity with the Red Devils looking to make moves…

Contact made with Andre Onana

According to The Mail, Manchester United have ‘sounded out’ Andre Onana over a move to the club.

Onana is being linked with a move which would cost Manchester United in the region of £50 million.

Uncertainty continues over the future of David de Gea. The Athletic report there is no agreement between club and player over a new deal, yet.

United and De Gea are ‘considering their respective options’. As it stands he will become a free agent on July 1, but there is said to be some flexibility beyond that point to do a deal if both parties wish to.

But United’s interest in Onana is a sign the Red Devils are prepared to move on, for a more well-rounded goalkeeper.

BBC reporter’s Mount hint

BBC reporter Howard Nurse has provided an update on Manchester United’s interest in Mason Mount.

He says: “Edging closer but not quite there.”

Manchester United submitted a second bid for Mount, The Athletic reported. The £50 million offer including add-ons was rejected, with Chelsea looking for £65 million.

Mount has one year left on his contract and wants to move to United, however, Chelsea’s selling spree means they are not short of cash.

Adrien Rabiot boost

Manchester United are in the mix to sign Adrien Rabiot when his contract at Juventus expires at the end of June.

Juventus have not totally given up on trying to get him to renew, however, only being able to offer Europa Conference League football is a tough sell.

Footmercato report Juventus are impatient and prepared to walk away from Rabiot if they do not receive a positive response in the next few days.

Fabrizio Romano reports via CaughtOffside that United are keen to hold fresh talks with Rabiot over a move.
