Manchester United receive Premier League approach for Amad Diallo

Manchester United may face a January decision over Amad Diallo with Wolverhampton Wanderers understood to be interested.

Manchester United fans had high hopes for Amad Diallo after his loan spell at Sunderland last season.

The Ivorian was incredible on Wearside, smashing 14 goals and three assists in 39 appearances for the Black Cats.

Diallo got himself back on track after a disappointing spell at Rangers, but he hasn’t been able to kick on with United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers want Amad Diallo

Diallo picked up a knee injury in pre-season and hasn’t featured for United since.

Seeing him turn out for United before January would be ideal, and he could end up moving on loan during the transfer window.

Football Transfers claim that Wolves are now showing a real interest in taking Diallo on loan for the second half of the season.

It’s stated that Wolves have actually already made contact with United over a January loan move.

Wolves have allegedly fancied Diallo for a while now, going back to his Atalanta days and before his move to Rangers.

Wolves are now seen as an ideal destination for Diallo to go out and play first-team football having unfortunately missed the first part of this season.

Diallo needs Premier League exposure

United clearly have huge faith in Diallo having paid £37million to sign him from Atalanta in 2021.

An exciting winger who showed his quality in front of goal at Championship level last season, Diallo now needs to prove that he can be a United player in the long-term.

Shining in the Championship and stepping up to become a United first-team regular is a big jump, as many have found over the years.

The next natural step is for Diallo to play Premier League minutes out on loan, with United no doubt keen to see how he fares in the top flight.

Diallo would face strong competition at Wolves from Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto, but that’s the kind of challenge he needs – and a January deal would certainly make sense.
