Manchester United are interested in signing Torino defender Perr Schuurs as Erik ten Hag targets a new defender.
Harry Maguire is on the verge of leaving United with a deal to join West Ham United now believed to be imminent.
Maguire is moving on in search of first-team football having lost the captaincy at United this summer.
That leaves United with a hole to fill at the back and we have already seen rumours surrounding moves for the likes of Jean-Clair Todibo and Benjamin Pavard.
United will have plenty of options in mind though and one of the rumoured targets knows Ten Hag very well…
Manchester United interested in Perr Schuurs
90Min report that United are looking at a number of options including Torino defender Perr Schuurs.
It’s stated that Schuurs is ‘liked behind the scenes’ at United and he’s in the picture as United target a new defender.
Schuurs played 92 games under Ten Hag at Ajax, more than under any other manager in his career.
Schuurs bagged three goals four assists in that time before being sold to Torino last summer.

The 23-year-old has impressed in Italy and has been branded a ‘complete’ defender by boss Ivan Juric.
Torino won’t sell easily; Calciomercato claim that Torino want €40million (£34.5million) for Schuurs and nobody has been willing to pay that yet.
United could now pounce, potentially reuniting Schuurs with Ten hag at Old Trafford.

Who is United target Schuurs?
Schuurs started out in the ranks of Dutch side Fortuna Sittard and actually went on trial with Liverpool back in 2017.
The Reds didn’t strike a deal but Ajax managed to get him snapped up in 2018, initially placing him in the Jong Ajax side.
Schuurs rose up into the first-team setup under Ten Hag but decided to move on last summer and try his hand in Italy with Torino, replacing Bremer following his move to Juventus.
The Dutchman has excelled in Italy and is now attracting major interest in the Premier League.
Ten Hag may have seen enough from Schuurs during his time at Ajax to believe that he can be strong competition for Raphael Varane.
We know that Ten Hag likes signing players he has worked with before, such as Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Antony and current target Sofyan Amrabat.
Schuurs would fit a similar bill and he is now a name for United fans to keep an eye on this summer as Maguire heads out.
