Manchester United are reportedly keen on adding an attacker who previously excelled in the Premier League.
Goalscoring has been an issue for Manchester United this season with both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to find consistency in front of goal.
United have scored just 12 goals in 11 Premier League matches with Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s interim spell contributing to four of these 12 goals.
Ruben Amorim certainly has a big job on his hands as he prepares for his first outing as United’s head coach. Sorting out the striking department will be one of his first tasks as head coach.

Manchester United keen on Ademola Lookman
According to a report from CaughtOffside, United are keen on former Everton and Red Bull Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman, who has shone at Italian giants Atalanta.
Sources with a close understanding of the situation report that United are keeping a close eye on Lookman, but no club-to-club talks have taken place for the winger.
The 27-year-old has not made a decision yet over his future but a move away would make sense considering how successful he has been in Italy.
Another side who are reportedly keen on the Nigerian winger is Paris Saint-Germain, the Parisian giants had an interest in Lookman back in the summer but did not make a move.
The report also states that it is unlikely that Lookman would depart Bergamo in January but a summer move is considered far more likely.
Lookman would offer something different for United
The current crop of wingers at United’s disposal are certainly hit or miss, but the Nigerian signing would certainly add something to the Red Devils forward line.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have been inconsistent this season whilst Amad Diallo has not been given enough chances on the right.
Lookman, who prefers playing from the left, would add much-needed impetus to the United attack. With six goals and four assists in Serie A this season, he could be an interesting option.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was keen to praise Lookman in his press conference describing the Nigerian winger as ‘absolutely amazing’.
