Manchester United are interested in signing Spain international Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid, according to ESPN.
ESPN reported in the summer that the Red Devils were offered the chance to sign the 30-year-old.
But with January’s transfer window set to open in just over two weeks, the 61-time Spain international remains of interest to Erik ten Hag, as per ESPN.
The twenty-time league champions are set to make an enquiry about the availability of Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos ahead of next month, and Cody Gakpo, Joao Felix and Rafael Leao are also all being followed alongside Morata.
Ten Hag said the Busby Babes would do “everything in our power” to sign a replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the space of six months, United have lost Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani which has left Ten Hag with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as his striking options.
Morata has scored five goals in 19 games for Atletico this season and he scored thee goals for Spain at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Atletico’s number 19 has an impressive 30 goals from his 61 caps for La Roja.
While the Reds signed the Belgian from Everton, Chelsea paid Los Blancos £60m to bring Morata to Stamford Bridge.
Morata scored 24 goals in 72 appearances, which included a header against United, for the Blues before joining Diego Simeone’s side on a permanent deal following an initial loan.
Morata, whose contract in the Spanish capital expires in 2024, wouldn’t be a glamour signing that captures Manchester United fans imagination, but compared to Ramos, Gakpo, Felix and Leao – he’s likely to be the cheapest option and that could play a big factor in United’s thinking.
