Manchester United held Fabricio Diaz talks
90Min report that United were one of a handful of clubs to hold talks over a deal to sign Fabricio Diaz from Liverpool Montevideo in Uruguay.
It’s stated that United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Brentford all held talks whilst Barcelona and Brighton and Hove Albion were keen too.
A move to Europe seemed nailed-on for Diaz, but he has instead made a shock move to the Middle East.
Qatari club Al Gharafa announced the signing of Diaz on Monday as they completed a surprise move.
90Min claim that Diaz does intend to move to Europe before the 2026 World Cup but whether European clubs will be quite as interest after his time in Qatar remains to be seen.

Who is Manchester United target Diaz?
Diaz joined the Liverpool Montevideo ranks as a kid and progressed all the way up to become a first-team player.
Still only 20, Diaz played more than 120 games for Liverpool Montevideo before deciding on his move to Al Gharafa.
Considered as something of a wonderkid, Diaz captained the Uruguay under-20’s to World Cup glory in Argentina earlier this year.
Diaz’s displays attracted more and more interest with United looking to hand him a move to Old Trafford just like compatriots Diego Forlan and Edinson Cavani in years gone by.
Diaz seemingly thinks that Qatar is the best move for him right now, with United left to ponder whether to keep tabs on him moving forward.
