Manchester United have offered a four-year contract to try and lure Real Madrid holding midfielder Casemiro.
The pursuits of Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot have gone cold and that has led to links with the Brazilian springing up.
Journalist Andy Mitten has written in the National that United have offered the 30-year-old a four-year deal to come to Old Trafford.
The report also says that United have offered the midfielder a significant increase on his current earnings, which work out at €5 million-per-year (£4.2 million) after taxes.

Manchester United offer Casemiro lucrative contract
The report says United are prepared to pay around €70 million (£58.9 million) to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford this summer.
Casemiro is a top player, with experience of winning the biggest trophies, and a good relationship with the likes of Fred and Raphael Varane, as we have already written.
But that is a significant chunk of money to commit to a player who is already 30, who will have no real resale value, and was clearly not first choice.
We know at this stage that United’s summer has not been well-thought out or planned, and it is just about whether the club can get quality through the door in the positions Erik ten Hag needs it.
An indication of how good Casemiro has been for Madrid can be found in comments from his former Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane.
“Casemiro is an important player, he ensures the balance between defence and attack,” he said at one press conference.
“He does a similar job to (Didier) Deschamps and (Claude) Makelele. What he has been doing is not surprising, he has confidence and he is better every year.”
And he has also drawn admiration from across the Madrid-Barcelona divide, with Sergio Busquets admitting in March that he admires the Brazilian.
“If he’s not the best, he’s definitely among the best (holding midfielder in the world),” he said. “I admire Casemiro.
“You just have to watch his games, his career or the work he does on the field. It happens to midfielders like us, we’re not flashy and people don’t pay attention to us because at the end of the day they just take a look at goals, assists and dribbles. Our work is not flashy but it’s important, we have to control the game.”
