Manchester United and Tottenham are far apart on valuations for England international striker Harry Kane.
It appears Manchester United have not totally given up on a deal to sign Harry Kane. A report from The Sun claims the Red Devils have advised the striker to submit a transfer request.
This is viewed as the only realistic way United have a chance to get the deal done.
David Ornstein last night told FIVE that as it stands, United would have to offer a ‘monstrous’ bid to convince Tottenham to sell Kane, despite his contract being set to expire in June 2024.

There won’t be a ‘monstrous offer’ from Manchester United for Harry Kane, not with the club having to be cautious over the club’s transfer budget.
But there is a figure United have in mind which the club view as do-able and good value.
The Mail report: “The situation won’t change unless Tottenham are prepared to drop their asking price closer to £80m.”
This is why United are hoping Kane can agitate behind the scenes to force a move and push Tottenham into letting him move on.
However, with Kane a homegrown prospect and loyal to Tottenham for so long, he will not want to leave on a sour note – even if Tottenham seem keen to use this against him by exploiting his loyalty.
Ornstein told FIVE that Tottenham hope Kane will stay, and enjoy working under new manager Ange Postecoglou enough to want to sign a new contract.
In our view, surely it is time for Kane to cut the cord now and push for a move, with Spurs unable to offer any European football next season.
£80 million seems optimistic on United’s part, that’s the sweet spot where the club would be prepared to do business.
Tottenham are unlikely to get there without a big push on Kane’s part, so unless he does try and force a move with a public transfer request, United will have to look elsewhere.
