Manchester United fans will love the signing of Andre Onana, according to Eredivisie expert Marcel van der Kraan.

Van der Kraan spoke to Sky Sports with Manchester United’s move for the goalkeeper reported to be imminent.

Onana made a name for himself under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, before leaving to join Inter Milan last summer.

BBC Sport report United are optimistic of completing a deal for Onana before the squad fly to the USA for the summer tour.

Andre Onana is ‘sensational’

Van der Kraan talked up Onana and says he is a ‘rare’ find due to his unique skillset and passing ability.

He explained: “He is probably the most sensational goalkeeper Man Utd will get for a long time.”

He added that Edwin van der Sar pushed to sign him for Ajax and that the goalkeeper has lived up to expectations.

“Van der Sar said, ‘Look we want to get this boy he is going to be brilliant’. Ever since joining Ajax he was a huge success.”

“Onana is, some fans call it crazy, but there is always logic behind it. It is rare to find a goalkeeper like him. No one has the confidence of Onana. If United succeed in bringing him in the fans will love him.”

Andre Onana numbers

According to Calciomercato, Andre Onana has agreed personal terms over his move to Manchester United which will see him almost double his salary.

The report claims there is a five million Euro difference between the two clubs over a fee, with Inter aiming for 60 million total and United offering 55 including add-ons, a gap which should be bridged easily enough.

It is speculated a deal could be closed by the end of the week, with Onana becoming United’s second summer signing following the addition of Mason Mount.
