Manchester United are finally making a move to sign Sofyan Amrabat. There is a hope it can be done in time for deadline.
You were beginning to feel a little sorry for Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan had been waiting on a Manchester United move for the best part of the last two months.
With the final week of the transfer window, Amrabat has become an outcast at Fiorentina, and you wondered whether he might be forced into a Peter Odemwingie style flight to Manchester to try and get into Carrington of his own accord.
Well, worry no more. It looks like Manchester United have finally decided to move. Better late than never?

Sofyan Amrabat talks begin
The Athletic report Manchester United are finally making a move to sign Sofyan Amrabat. He is considered a more achievable deal than Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.
United’s problem is a lack of funds. So the solution, also recognised by Fiorentina, is to move ahead with a loan deal for the midfielder.
He adds that Amrabat himself is of course keen on a move to Old Trafford. United are claimed to be actively working on a deal.

Manchester United fans react
The Sofyan Amrabat developments have been welcomed among United fans.
One wrote on Twitter: “Amrabat is a huge game changer man, solidifies that midfield massively.”
Another wrote: “Finally it’s happening.”
A third said: “Finally making some moves,” while another fan said: “Now that’s what I’m talking about.”
Another supporter wrote: “Finally get the deal over the line,” with another commenting, “About time, should have happened weeks ago.”
As always, there is a lack of urgency with United, who will no doubt reflect that a cheaper loan is a better deal, rather than paying to get him in early. Let’s just hope an agreement can be reached with Fiorentina.
