Manchester United eye transfer move for star Ralf Rangnick said was ‘one of the top talents in Europe’

Manchester United have been exposed this season with a succession of injuries at full-back, so it is no surprise they are eyeing another.

According to Football Transfers, Manchester United are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Nordi Mukiele.

Mukiele, a right-back, would be able to provide competition at the position, which would also allow Diodo Dalot to cover at left-back if required.

Mukiele can also play at centre-back, and this versatility would boost Erik ten Hag‘s defensive options.

A move for Mukiele could be possible

Nordi Mukiele is not currently in favour at Paris Saint-Germain under new manager Luis Enrique.

Mukiele has only been selected to play seven minutes of football this season, and this would suggest he would be keen to move on in the January transfer window.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly a fan of Mukiele, and it is possible that due to a lack of game time, United could sign him for cheap, or even on loan if required, amid concerns over a limited January transfer budget.

PSG only paid £13.5 million to sign Mukiele in 2022. A lack of game time does not suggest his value will have increased much.

Ralf Rangnick has talked up Mukiele

Nordi Mukiele was praised previously by former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick was the sporting director at RB Leipzig when Mukiele was signed, and the club website quoted him describing the defender as: “one of the top talents in Europe in his position.”

Versatile, a good age at 25, potentially available on the cheap, and with a Ralf Rangnick seal of approval too, there is a lot to like about a mid-season move for Mukiele.
