Manchester City could dent Manchester United’s pursuit of Andre Onana as they join the chase for Shakhter Donetsk star Anatoliy Trubin.
It seems pretty clear that United are pushing for the signing of a new goalkeeper.
David De Gea’s contract has now expired and Nottingham Forest are chasing a permanent deal for Dean Henderson.
That means United may need to sign two goalkeepers this summer and Onana appears to be the top target.
Erik ten Hag knows Onana well from their time together at Ajax and rumours of a potential deal have been strong.
Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed United’s interest in Onana and Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla claims that an offer is imminent.
Pedulla suggests that United will bid €45million (£38.5million) plus €5million to €6million (£4.3million to £5.15million) in add-ons.
United’s interest seems so advanced that Inter have started lining up potential replacements – but Manchester City could cause a problem.

Manchester City want Inter’s potential Andre Onana replacement
Gazzetta dello Sport reported just a few days ago that Inter had identified Shakhtar Donetsk stopper Anatoliy Trubin to replace Onana.
Calciomercato added that Inter had started working on a deal for Trubin, with talks seemingly either planned or ongoing.
However, TaToTake in Ukraine now report that Trubin’s most likely destination is actually Manchester City.
They claim that City scouts have been watching Trubin for some time now and may see him as their future first-choice stopper.
We have seen City sign players and loan them straight out on numerous occasions, so they may well do the same with Trubin just to make sure they don’t miss out.
That could be a problem for United, with Inter maybe reluctant to let Onana go without having a replacement on board.
Trubin seems to be their top choice and if City pounce for the Ukrainian, a deal for Onana may get even trickier.
