Manchester United scouts are at the under-17 World Cup with a long list of players to watch, this including Brazil number nine, Dell.

The tournament has got underway this week, and Manchester United scouts will be very busy.

Ahead of the tournament, United in Focus exclusively revealed the wonderkids that the Red Devils would be keeping an eye on in Qatar this month.

Argentina ace Felipe Esquivel scored and assisted in game one, establishing himself as a player worth looking at with an £87m release clause.

Elsewhere, United eyes will also have been watching Tuesday’s early kick-off between Brazil and Honduras.

Manchester United are scouting Brazil sensation Dell

While not being on the initial list of three main names, United were known to be watching at the under-17 World Cup in Qatar, Brazil wonderkid Dell, also known as Wendeson Santos Dell, has now made his way onto the list.

Sources tell United in Focus, via Graeme Bailey, that the Bahia striker is on United’s list of players to watch during this tournament, although admittedly that includes a lot of Brazilians.

Dell is considered ‘Erling Haaland-like’ in Brazil, earning the nickname ‘Haaland of the backlands’ due to his birthplace of Estancia, which is local to Bahia, where the 17-year-old currently plays his football.

This deal would fit in with United’s recent business as Christopher Vivell continues to use his expertise to find diamonds in the rough.

After shining at the South American Championship, Dell has also had an impressive start to the under-17 World Cup.

Dell scores brace for Brazil U17 against Honduras

If there were any doubts over Dell, these will have been answered by the youngster after his performance against Honduras, scoring a brace in a 7-0 thrashing.

Dell didn’t have loads of chances, but he scored with both his shots, the pair being pure number nine goals, demonstrating his natural instinct in the box.

The 17-year-old also made one key pass as his hold-up play helped Brazil to dominate despite just 21 touches of the ball.

Defensively, Dell also showed excellent signs as he won five of eight duels and a tackle as he pressed from the front, forcing errors, something that would suit United.

The comparisons to Haaland were clear to see despite not being as tall, with a similar running style, strength, and clinical finishing.
