Manchester United have reportedly had a bid rejected for Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand, here’s all you need to know.
Morten Hjulmand is a player in demand this January it seems and now it’s been reported Manchester United have seen their opening offer to Sporting Lisbon rejected.
The midfielder would be a terrific addition to United’s squad and would likely fit in right away with two of his countrymen at the club already.
Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund could have helped the Dane settle quickly if a deal was reached.
However, with United’s opening offer of a swap deal being rejected, the future of this move looks bleak.

Manchester United see offer rejected for Morten Hjulmand
According to The Sun, unwanted Facundo Pellistri – who’s being offered around right now – was the player United offered in exchange for 24-year-old Hjulmand.
Sporting isn’t believed to even be entertaining the offer of Pellistri with the Uruguayan international not representing a fair trade.
Instead, the Portuguese giants have demanded that United meet the £69 million release clause which is in Hjulmand’s contract if he is to leave this window.
Hjulmand only joined Sporting in the summer from Leece for a fee of £15m so they’ll be in no rush to sell him which means he will cost a lot.
If Erik ten Hag does want Hjulmand, he’s going to need to move quickly as Liverpool is also keen on the midfielder according to HITC Football.
This could lead to a fiercely contested battle which if it doesn’t happen in January could be one for the summer too.
