Man Utd now have to take drastic action over Bryan Mbeumo, latest update shows embarrassing reality for Ineos

Manchester United’s summer transfer saga of Bryan Mbeumo has no end in sight.

This summer is quickly turning into a disaster for Ineos.

Despite signing Matheus Cunha on June 1st, the quickest transfer the club have completed in over a decade, the past month and a half has been very frustrating.

Manchester United have spent this time in talks to sign Bryan Mbeumo, with negotiations moving at a snails pace with two bids already rejected.

The talks between United and Brentford have lasted over a month, and a third and final bid has been considered imminent for weeks.

This led to massive frustration around Old Trafford, however, United were planning to sign Mbeumo in time for the US Tour which begins next week. However, this deadline followed on from previous deadlines of July 7th and also July 1st.

Now, the latest update shows that it might be time for the club to move on.

David Ornstein suggests Bryan Mbeumo transfer saga is far from over

Manchester United fans are losing patience with Ineos, so we can only imagine how Ruben Amorim has been left feeling due to the slow prgress being made with Mbeumo.

However, the latest update on the deal from David Ornstein is the most embarassing yet, and should leave Amorim absolutely livid.

Ornstein has reported for The Athletic, that United and Brentford are still in a standoff over the price.

United are being patient, he explains, in the hope Brentford lower the demands in order to give Mbeumo his dream summer move, while the players mood at training could play a part as he returned for pre-season on Monday.

Brentford are relaxed about their position currently, but for United, this is becoming an embarrassing situation.

Manchester United must take embarrassing action over Mbeumo now

With there still being ‘several millions’ between the two clubs’ valuations this summer, United need to do the unthinkable and exit Mbeumo talks.

Signing Mbeumo would have been great, however, to spend over a month and a half in talks to be nowhere near agreement is ridiculous, highlighting incompetency within the clubs’ transfer recruitment staff.

United’s hesitation and unwillingness to pay the fair value has seen several deals within the Premier League occur to strengthen Brentford’s stance as he is worth more than Mohammed Kudus and Anthony Elanga.

Ineos should have offered £60m plus £5m months ago and it would have been accepted, perhaps even before triggering the Matheus Cunha release clause to avoid setting that imaginary bar which Brentford want to surpass.

So if talks really are this far away, United need to realise that it’s the 15th of July and move onto other targets, otherwise this chase for Mbeumo might end up ruining the entire summer, only to pay the Bees demands in the end.

Embarrassing from Ineos, and they are losing all credit built up last summer. At this rate, Amorim has his work cut out this summer.
