Man Utd interest in Marcin Bulka and latest on signing Nice players explained

Manchester United are being linked with a summer move for OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.

There will be many changes at Manchester United this summer after a turbulent 2024/25 campaign.

The Red Devils lost the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur before finishing 15th in the Premier League.

That means Ruben Amorim’s side will be without European football next season, which could make it difficult for Ineos to land their preferred targets in the transfer window.

There is a lot of uncertainty over the future of members of United’s first team, especially those who underperformed under Amorim over the past six months.

Recent claims in the media suggest United are looking to sign another number 10, a striker and a goalkeeper.

Manchester United add Marcin Bulka to radar

Any suggestions over a new goalkeeper joining United will raise question marks over Andre Onana’s future.

The Cameroon international struggled in his first two years at Old Trafford and the jury is still out on whether he is the right man to stand between the sticks at United.

There are also doubts over the future of Altay Bayindir, who could leave the club in search of regular football this summer.

Following a conversation with Graeme Bailey, United In Focus understands that United have scouted OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.

The Poland international initially joined the Ligue 1 club on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, and his stay was made permanent a year later.

There’s a possibility he could be on the move again with just over a year left on his contract.

Doubts over whether United can do business with Nice have been raised, since Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns a percentage of both clubs, but the Red Devils are not expecting any issues with that after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

What does Bulka interest mean for Andre Onana?

Even if United sign a young goalkeeper like Bulka, he will be expected to compete with Onana for a place in the team.

That is, unless Onana is sold during the summer.

United In Focus understands there is a chance Onana leaves, but it’s heavily dependent on whether he attracts adequate interest from potential suitors.

There is reported interest in Onana from Saudi Arabia, although nothing definite has been decided yet.
