Manchester United are looking into the goalkeeping market after finally securing the signature of forward Bryan Mbeumo on Monday.
Manchester United’s top priority in this summer transfer window has been attacking additions.
Matheus Cunha joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers early in the window, and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo became the next target.
Mbeumo wanted a move to United early in June, but it has taken more than six weeks to get the deal over the line.
Monday saw United finally present Mbeumo as a new signing, but the attention is already turning to other signings.
A goalkeeper may be a priority after Andre Onana’s injury, especially as Altay Bayindir was expected to leave United this summer.

Manchester United discuss Emiliano Martinez move
Onana may not miss too much of the Premier League campaign, but we have seen little to suggest that Bayindir can fill in at a high level.
Other signings are being explored, with United keen on signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
United may go down the route of a talented youngster to develop, such as Lammens, or a more experienced stopper to make an immediate impact.
Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez is on United’s wish list and would certainly fit the mould of a proven, tried-and-tested goalkeeper.
The Daily Mail now claim that United ‘held discussions’ over the weekend to explore a move for Martinez.
United even discussed the prospect of taking Martinez on loan, something Villa are unlikely to sanction this summer.
Villa are sticking to a £40million asking price, meaning United face a hefty spend if Martinez is to arrive at Old Trafford.
Reports in Argentina suggest that United would pay £33million for Martinez, but even that is some way short of Villa’s asking price.
Senne Lammens seems a more likely signing than Emiliano Martinez
Martinez would fit into United’s summer transfer plan of adding proven Premier League quality.
Cunha and Mbeumo have shown their class in the Premier League, and Martinez has done the same, starring for Villa since his 2020 move from Arsenal.
Villa seemingly don’t want to let Martinez go easily, though, and Lammens looks to be a much more likely addition.
The Belgian talent wouldn’t cost nearly as much as Martinez in terms of the transfer fee, and would likely accept a role as second-choice behind Onana before potentially stepping up down the line.
Lammens has excelled in Belgium and may still need some guarantees on playing time and his future role at Old Trafford.
Bayindir has struggled for first-team appearances since joining United in 2023, and Lammens won’t want his career to go the same way.
That leaves United with some work to do, but a big cash deal for Martinez just doesn’t make sense as things stand, especially with so many other positions needing attention.
