Manchester United look likely to see the end of Mason Greenwood being under contract at the club this summer.
After being moved to Getafe at the end of last summer, Mason Greenwood has became one of Spain’s most sought after player.
His 13 goal contributions this season for the La Liga side has led to him being viewed as an option by league holders Barcelona.
The Catalan giants were reported to have made their initial move towards Manchester United to sign Greenwood just a few days ago, and now there’s been a further development.
Here’s what has happened now with the United academy graduate…
John Murtough spotted in Barcelona
According to Spanish outlet Jijantes FC, current United director of football John Murtough and director of negotiations Matt Hargreaves have been seen in Barcelona.
Among those they were meeting was Barcelona sporting director Deco, which has raised some eyebrows and led many to believe this is regarding Greenwood.
This meeting could be to see Greenwood wrap up an early move to the Catalan giants so he can move straight there after his loan expires, which avoids him returning to Carrington.

Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe suggesting a decision on Greenwood was yet to be made, it seems the club are actively looking to sell.
For example if United were to sell him for £20m or so, this would be a huge result for the Old Trafford side as it would help with PSR and also see a real problem depart the club.
It would also be good for the player as he’s been impressing in Spain and staying could see him fulfill his early career potential.
A return to United never looked likely for Greenwood considering his situation and the fan backlash which would likely arrive.
