Ineos have prioritised signing young talents since taking control of football operations at Manchester United, and that is set to continue as they monitor one of the brightest talents in Scotland.

Manchester United’s shift in transfer policy has seen Ineos focus on recruiting young players to give the club the best chance of future success.

This has been evident since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became co-owner at United, especially with the arrivals of Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro and Chido Obi.

United will hope that these players continue to develop at Old Trafford before going on to help bring success to Ruben Amorim’s side.

The strategy was clear yet again during the previous summer transfer window when United signed Harley Emssden-James as well as Enzo Kana-Biyik.

Man Utd competing with Keir McKeekin

Ineos are set to continue their search for emerging talent to bolster the youth ranks at United.

One player attracting interest from United and other Premier League clubs is a youngster playing for Hearts.

According to Edinburgh News, United are among several clubs to make offers to sign teenage Hearts midfielder Keir McMeekin. The other clubs include Man City, Brighton and Liverpool.

It is understood that Hearts want to keep the 15-year-old, with plans to offer him a professional contract after his birthday next February.

However, McKeekin can join a Premier League club before then on a scholarship.

McMeekin is a Scottish U17 international and he is earning rave reviews for his performances for Hearts.

Hearts will be due compensation if McKeekin leaves as he has been part of their youth system as a 7-year-old.

It remains to be seen if McKeekin moves to England before signing a professional contract.

Ruben Amorim must put faith in young players

As United head coach, Amorim is expected to respect club traditions, such as putting faith in academy players like Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo hasn’t cemented a place in Amorim’s midfield yet, as he must convince the head coach that he can be trusted in the middle of the pitch.

However, United have many other young players who could make a difference.

They include Shea Lacey and Sekou Kone, provided those players can stay fit.

Furthermore, Harry Amass is impressing on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.
