Manchester United could be in the market for an experienced forward to compete with Benjamin Sesko next season.

With Joshua Zirkzee linked with an exit this summer, Manchester United would be left with only Benjamin Sesko as a natural striker option.

Considering United are back in the Champions League and competing in four competitions, Michael Carrick will need depth and a new striker could be on the shopping list.

Fabrizio Romano gives hope for Julian Alvarez to Man Utd

One option in United’s hunt for a striker is Julian Alvarez, who could leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

In his latest YouTube video, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there are Premier League clubs chasing the World Cup winner.

“I think there is still a possibility for Julian Alvarez to leave,” Romano said.

“Keep all doors open. That means Barcelona, because they love the player, but also PSG and Premier League clubs are very interested.

“They will be very aggressive this summer, so I think it will be hard for Atletico to keep the player.

“My new understanding is that a new contract at Atletico Madrid is very, very unlikely. So at the moment it is more on Julian to decide what he wants to do.”

Which one striker at their peak would you re-sign for Manchester United right now?

Man United missed out on Julian Alvarez

Back in 2022, Ralf Rangnick wanted Julian Alvarez at United, but the Glazers overlooked his transfer suggestions.

United missed out on Alvarez, and he went on to become a superstar and complete an £82 million move to Atletico Madrid.

At the age of 26, Alvarez has already won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the World Cup.

While he may not be overly experienced in terms of age, he has won so many trophies that he would add priceless leadership to United’s squad.

If Alvarez is available, United could be in the market for the former Manchester City star.
