Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is reportedly attracting interest yet again from Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel.

The German side were seemingly keen on the Scottish midfielder towards the end of the transfer window but nothing was forthcoming instead, the German side pursued Joao Palhinha from Fulham but they didn’t sign him either.

Now, according to The Mirror, they could well be set to step up their interest once again in the United academy player.

McTominay started against Brighton & Hove Albion but did not affect the game in the slightest and you wonder how many more opportunities the midfielder will have once Sofyan Amrabat is back fit.

What does the report say

The report from states the Bundesliga champions will target the midfielder if they fail to sign Palhinha in January.

The midfielder also features prominently on Tuchel’s wishlist for his midfield targets and the former Chelsea boss is ready to offer the midfielder a chance at another top European club.

With Amrabat not far from making his United debut the midfielder will surely be back down the pecking order at Old Trafford and a move away may well be the ideal solution for both player and club.

Should United let McTominay go

The Scottish midfielder is seemingly not part of Erik Ten Hag’s long-term plans at Old Trafford and United really should have allowed the £30 million deal with West Ham to go ahead but instead, the club rejected the offer according to the Manchester Evening News.

Bayern Munich would be a huge move for the midfielder and could well be the move that the 26-year-old needs at this point in his career.

If United persist with the diamond formation and McTominay plays against Bayern Munich on Wednesday it will give Tuchel a chance to see the Scotsman up close and maybe speak to him about making a move to the club in the winter transfer window.
