Man United academy ace could still leave before window closes, German side ‘trying’ to get deal done

Manchester United academy midfielder Isak Hansen-Aaroen could leave Old Trafford before the transfer deadline tomorrow night.

It has been a frustrating season for Norwegian midfielder Isak Hansen-Aaroen following the opportunities he was given in the first team during pre-season by Erik ten Hag.

Hansen-Aaroen assisted Joe Hugill’s goal during the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Leeds United in Oslo but has yet to make a senior appearance for United.

This has led to talk over the Norwegian’s future at the club with rumours swirling about the potential possibility of the 19-year-old leaving Old Trafford. With the deadline fast approaching, his future is looking uncertain.

Hansen-Aaroen’s future

A report from the Manchester Evening News has detailed that the Norwegian could still leave Old Trafford in the summer as he enters the final six months of his current contract.

Talks have been ongoing over an extension to his current deal but with these discussions not currently close to a resolution, a move away from the club is now seen as likely.

United would reportedly love to hang on to the talented attacking midfielder but they accept that this will be the last time they can make a decent amount of money.

The Norwegian is understood to be desperate for it to work at Old Trafford but has become frustrated over his lack of game time with his omission from the FA Cup victory over Wigan marked as a point of frustration for the midfielder.

Werder Bremen are one of the sides who are ‘trying’ to sign the Norwegian according to a post on X from Transfermarkt journalist Benedikt Duda.

Why United may decide to sell

Losing an academy player for a minimal fee is never ideal because these youngsters can go on and flourish elsewhere, Angel Gomes and Paul Pogba are examples of this.

However, there may well be credibility to the idea that selling the Norwegian this month may not be a bad idea due to the compensation and the clauses they could include in his sale.

Like similar deals they have made this month including the loan of Alvaro Fernandez to Benfica, United will add potential sell-on clauses or even buyback agreements.

This may well not be the worst decision the club could make this month but they will have to get a move on otherwise, they risk losing him for free.
