Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce have now been tipped as one of two clubs that could make a move for a Manchester United-linked player, according to reports in Turkey.
Ruben Amorim and Manchester United will make their return to football in July for the pre-season campaign, which will take place in Europe and the United States.
United’s pre-season tour will end in August ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils facing Arsenal in their opening match.
The Red Devils endured a disappointing 2024-25 campaign and United only managed to finish 15th in the Premier League table under Ruben Amorim.
United will be without European football for the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford and Amorim faces an uphill task in putting the Red Devils back on the path to success.
Amorim has been afforded the first opportunity to lay down the foundation for his United first-team squad, including welcoming new signings and offloading players.

Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce are now linked with Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez amid Man Utd transfer interest
Emiliano Martinez has been linked with Manchester United and the 32-year-old Argentine shot-stopper’s future has been cast in uncertainty this summer.
The Aston Villa star is tipped to leave Villa Park after the 2024-25 Premier League season and Villa are reportedly open to selling Emiliano Martinez for the ‘right’ price.
Villa are believed to be holding out for a transfer fee of around £40m for Martinez amid the Premier League club trying to manage their financial problems.
According to Fotomac, a ‘hot development’ has emerged with United-linked Martinez after he has been ‘listed high’ as a transfer target for Fenerbahce this summer.
Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce side are not the only club putting Martinez ‘high’ on their list, with Turkish rivals Galatasaray also in the race to sign Martinez.
Emiliano Martinez’s stance on his club future after the Aston Villa ace is linked with Man Utd, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce
Fotomac has reported that United are believed to be the favourites to sign Emiliano Martinez if the Red Devils made an approach for the Aston Villa shot-stopper.
According to the Turkish newspaper, Martinez’s next move is dependent on his best chances of representing Argentina at the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce reportedly see the news around Martinez’s stance as ‘shocking,’ with the United-linked player keen to play in a ‘highly competitive league.’
Both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray could offer Martinez the opportunity to play in the Champions League, but the player is ‘unlikely to accept’ offers from either of them.
It has been reported that Martinez, who is under contract with Villa until 2029, is keen to remain in England and his preferred destination would be Old Trafford.
