Inter keen on Rasmus Hojlund, but are actually more interested in signing one of his Man Utd teammates

Manchester United have agreed to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers as Ruben Amorim bolsters his attacking options.

Ruben Amorim’s top priority for the summer transfer window must be to bring more goals to Manchester United.

United found the net just 44 times in 38 Premier League games this past season, leaving Amorim to weigh up improvements for next season.

United have now agreed to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a huge boost to Amorim’s options.

Cunha hit 15 goals and six assists in the Premier League last season, providing Amorim with real quality from the number 10 role.

United still need another striker, or possibly even two depending on potential sales this summer.

Inter Milan want Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee

Rasmus Hojlund struggled this past season, failing to build on an encouraging first year at Old Trafford.

The Dane looked completely bereft of confidence in front of goal, scoring just four Premier League goals.

Reports suggest Inter want Hojlund this summer having initially shown an interest during his time with Atalanta.

Calciomercato suggest that Hojlund is ‘unhappy’ at United and a strong relationship between his agent and Inter means a deal is possible.

Tuttomercatoweb now claim that, whilst Inter do like Hojlund, they actually prefer to sign fellow United forward Joshua Zirkzee.

United snapped up Zirkzee last summer, luring the Dutch forward away from Bologna.

Zirkzee was more impressive as a number 10 than as a striker in Amorim’s system, but Inter still fancy him up top.

It’s stated that Inter fancy Zirkzee ‘above all’ on their list of striking options, as they look to add support for Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Marco Arnautovic looks set to leave Inter this summer and Zirkzee is being eyed up by the Champions League runners-up.

Zirkzee’s previous displays in Serie A for Bologna will live in the memory, just like Hojlund’s performances with Atalanta.

United’s desire to raise funds this summer may tempt Inter into a move for Zirkzee but don’t expect Amorim to let him go easily.

Ruben Amorim will surely look to keep Joshua Zirkzee

Zirkzee has not even been a United player for a year but has already been through huge ups and downs.

A debut goal against Fulham made Zirkzee a hero on the opening day of the Premier League season.

By the end of 2024, Zirkzee was cheered off the pitch against Newcastle United as he turned in a torrid display.

Amorim kept the faith in Zirkzee and utilised him as a number 10, which brought improved performances.

Amorim has been encouraged by Zirkzee’s development and surely still sees a big role for him at Old Trafford.

United may consider offers for anybody and everybody this summer, but Zirkzee is one player we would like to see stay put.
