Manchester United have been backed to challenge for the Premier League title with Harry Kane on board.
The Guardian reported last week Manchester United are keen to try and strike an early deal with Tottenham for Harry Kane.
A subsequent report has suggested this will be difficult, with The Mirror reporting Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is ‘adamant’ he does not want to sell the striker.
But as Kane has only one year left on his contract and looking, Tottenham have a very tough decision to make.
Kane backed for United
Former Premier League striker Ian Wright believes Harry Kane would turn Manchester United into title challengers.
Speaking to the Kelly and Wrighty Show, he said he himself would find United an attractive club to sign for right now under Erik ten Hag.
He said: “Man United depending on who they sign, 17 points than they did last season… with Harry Kane in the side, Man United are very close to something. Very close to challenging.
“They will splash to get the right player. If I had to choose, I’d probably choose Man United. Man United are in the Champions League and he makes the difference. They are ready to go.”
Whether Kane can take United as far as winning the title next season, who knows, but that will be the ambition if he signs.
He struck 30 goals in a poor Tottenham side this past season and with Bruno Fernandes supplying chances, he could hit new heights.
For now the big challenge is simply getting him. However, this is not a position Manchester United can afford to scrimp on any longer.
