Facundo Pellistri left Manchester United in 2024, but interest from Hull City could see the winger return to the Premier League.
The Uruguay international, who didn’t make a single appearance at the 2026 World Cup, signed for Manchester United from Peñarol in 2020.
As the story goes, United signed Facundo Pellistri on the back of a recommendation from Diego Forlan made to former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pellistri made 25 appearances for United – 13 of which were in the Premier League. The 24-year-old, currently playing for Panathinaikos in Greece, is now being linked with a return to England.

After the World Cup debacle, if YOU had the power to reverse/cancel any red card suspension in Manchester United history, what would you pick?
Man Utd could benefit from Hull City’s interest in Facundo Pellistri
Hull City could bring Pellistri back to the Premier League.
According to Sport 24, Pellistri is now on the Hull City radar, with the club’s owner Acun Ilicali an ally of Giannis Alafouzos, who owns Panathinaikos.
This will be of interest to United for one key reason that doesn’t include the buyback option, because United also has a 50% sell-on clause.
That essentially means United’s smart transfer insurance could pay off this summer, although it remains to be seen how much Hull City are willing to spend on the winger.
Interestingly, Pellistri’s agent Edgardo Lasalvia recently spoke to Sport890, as per Red Gol, when he lifted the lid on his client’s future.
“We’re looking for a way to change teams,” Lasalvia said. “But if not, we’re fine staying in Greece.”
Pellistri is under contract at Panathinaikos until 2028.
