Sporting Lisbon’s young Portuguese defender Goncalo Inacio is reportedly open to joining Manchester United this summer.
The centre-back has had a breakout year at Sporting Lisbon impressing many suitors. The defender’s £53m release clause is above his market value, but his age and potential makes him a terrific coup.
This isn’t the first time the 21-year-old has found himself linked with the red side of Manchester.
O Jogo claim that United have already began contacts for the signing. Adding fuel to the fire, Inacio is also reportedly open to making the move to the Red Devils.
With United rumoured to be in the market for a centre-back for a host of reasons, a move could be on the cards. Injury woes have plagued the position for Erik ten Hag recently, along with the expected departure of Harry Maguire.

Inacio would be a top signing
Inacio would represent a direct replacement for Maguire in defence. He’s left-footed therefore could fill in as an understudy for Lisandro Martinez.
Inacio has started 29 games for Sporting in Liga Portugal averaging; 1.3 interceptions per game, 1.1 tackles per game but most importantly hasn’t made any errors leading to goals.
The 21-year-old is good with his feet too boasting a pass accuracy of 90%, even creating four big chances, with three assists.
He is a raw gem, however with the right coaching, he has all the talent to learn be a special player. Additionally, United don’t have a young defender to let develop under the current world class talents.
With a host of other top European clubs interested, United will need to move quickly to secure his signature.
