Dutch football journalist Marcel van der Kraan has suggested Mohammed Kudus would join Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag is known to be a fan of targeting his former players, particularly raiding Ajax since his arrival in Manchester.

However this summer, he is yet to go shopping at his old employers, which could mean that is yet to come.

It is believed that Mohammed Kudus is the only current Ajax star now who could attract a move from United, given his suitability to the forward role needed.

Adding to this, if Atalanta continue to demand extremely high fees for top target Rasmus Hojlund, Kudus could be next on the agenda.

Van der Kraan on Kudus to United

Speaking on Football Daily, the Dutch reporter was asked about the future of versatile the Ajax forward.

Van der Kraan said revealed that Kudus has already told Ajax “I want to leave” and has suggested that Kudus could have a club lined up already.

“Now when does a player say he wants to leave? Usually when he’s got something else lined up.

“He is very keen on a move to the Premier League whether that be a top club in London or Manchester.”

He continued by suggesting that a call from Erik ten Hag would be enough to get Kudus to sign at Old Trafford.

“But I think as soon as Ten Hag would knock on his door, he will go.”

Kudus is also said to be on the list for United, but not among their first choices.

“He is on their list, he might not be the number one yet but if the players mentioned fail to come or talks break down, Kudus could be an ideal option.”

Should United sign the 22-year-old

Last season was when Kudus really broke out and became a top quality talent, after years of potential.

In his 42 games for Ajax in all competitions, he scored 18 goals and contributed seven assists. This included an impressive four goals and two assists in six Champions League games.

His Champions League performances were incredible and saw him score against Rangers twice, Liverpool and Napoli.

All of this from playing a combination of forward and midfielder, he is a truly special player.

He also is hugely exciting and would bring some entertainment to Old Trafford.

His versatility also would be a huge benefit as he could easily interchange with much of the front four.
