Manchester United are keen to sign Jude Bellingham this summer yet face strong competition despite Liverpool giving up.

Jude Bellingham is the most wanted midfielder in world football, and quite possibly the most expensively valued.

Teamtalk report the price could hit £135 million for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder. This is a staggering fee, but what interested clubs recognise, is that Bellingham could be worth it.

The 19-year-old starred for England at the World Cup and is seen as an all-round midfielder who could be England’s biggest talent since Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United pursuit of Jude Bellingham

Manchester United’s interest in signing Jude Bellingham has been reported by The Telegraph and The MEN.

Now the view from Germany also backs this up. Sport1’s Patrick Berger reports that while Manchester United are regarded as outsiders compared to Manchester City and Real Madrid, interest is serious.

He reports; “Understands ManUnited have outsider chances. EtH (Erik ten Hag) urgently wants the England star.”

Berger also adds: “Bellingham to stay at Dortmund also not ruled out.”

What happens in the final few weeks of the season could be significant to Manchester United’s hopes of acquiring Bellingham.

It is imperative the club secure a top four place and qualify for the Champions League. This applies to United’s transfer business as a whole.

Winning another trophy, the FA Cup, Europa League, or even both, would go a long way to selling the Erik ten Hag project to Bellingham too, a further sign the club are heading in the right direction.

A lot depends on a planned takeover too, from a financial standpoint. But United are in the mix, and the club’s ‘urgent’ desire to land Bellingham could appeal to the youngster too.
