Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Axel Disasi ‘would be really excited’ to play for Manchester United, amid speculated interest from the club.
L’Equipe have reported that Disasi had chosen Old Trafford as his preference for a move, with United close to completing a £45m deal.
The transfer has really come out of nowhere, with the centre-half looking nailed on to be leaving for Manchester being Napoli’s Kim Min Jae. He now looks destined to be heading for Munich.
This means United have once again turned their interest elsewhere. A more recent report from L’Equipe suggests that two Monaco centre-backs are on the Red Devils’ radar, but information from Fabrizio Romano revealed one has a significant interest in moving to Manchester.

Fabrizio Romano on Axel Disasi
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Fabrizio Romano has said that the 25-year-old ‘would be really excited’ to make the move to Old Trafford
Romano told the publication: “They had contact on the player’s side, for sure, for Disasi.
“From what I’m told, the player would be really excited to make a move to Manchester United.”
This is good news from a fan’s perspective, as you always want players who are keen to play for Manchester United and not just coming for a big paycheck.
However, how good is Disasi and would he fit in at Manchester United?
How good is Axel Disasi and would he fit in at Man Utd?
First off – Disasi is primarily a centre-back, but he can also operate as a right-back. This would be useful for Erik ten Hag as versatility is key with the sheer amount of fixtures being played next season.
Disasi was called up ahead of recent Chelsea signing Benoit Badiashile after Presnel Kimpembe was injured ahead of the World Cup. He became the first Frenchman to debut at the competition since 1966.
With a plethora of insane French defenders, it’s actually mightily impressive that Disasi featured for France.
With United definitely having a centre-back in their sights, we wouldn’t be complaining if Disasi was the man to move to Old Trafford.
