Fabrizio Romano: Saudi clubs looking to tempt Manchester United star with a move

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Saudi Arabia based clubs are trying to tempt David De Gea to join the league.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, despite winning the golden glove in the Premier League this season.

Many think De Gea’s a huge liability to the side. His distribution clearly isn’t good enough, he made some huge errors in the cup final against Manchester City and, quite frankly, there are better options out there.

With Saudi clubs on a rampage to secure as much talent as humanly possible, it appears now they’re looking to lure the 32-year-old to South West Asia.

Saudi clubs looking at David De Gea

Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter this morning to shed some light on the David De Gea situation.

‘Saudi clubs are aware of the verbal agreement at final stages between David de Gea and Manchester United over new deal, but they’re still insisting to tempt the goalkeeper. Man Utd remain on the market for new goalkeeper in any case,’ he Tweeted.

It seems apparent by now that Manchester United will probably sign a keeper in this window. However, the big question that remains to be seen is whether Dave remains at Old Trafford.

Gary Neville thinks that United needs to sign another goalkeeper to at least challenge David De Gea for the number one spot.

The main issue has got to be his ludicrous wages. Unfortunately, it puts De Gea in the sticky situation of taking a pay cut and fighting for your place, or moving elsewhere.

He’s undeniably a club legend. Whatever happens, we’ll always be grateful for some of the glorious moments De Gea has brought to Manchester United.
