Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the future of Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Donny van de Beek has been out in the cold under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United this season and a transfer away from the club in January is surely on the cards.
United are keen on completing another clear-out of fringe players this summer and the Dutch midfielder looks to be high on the list of players who will be on their way out of Old Trafford.
Van de Beek has not featured in a competitive game this season and was left out of the club’s travelling squad for the 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League earlier this month.
Van de Beek’s future
Speaking to CaughtOffside, the Italian transfer guru has given an update on the Dutch midfielder’s future.
“There’s no concrete update yet on Donny van de Beek, but he is one player who is very much expected to leave in January.
“United and Van de Beek will find a solution for sure, though there is no clarity yet about a specific club, it’s still too early.”
Yesterday, Galatasaray were linked with a move for the former Ajax midfielder and he could be the first player on the chopping block when the January transfer window opens soon.
Van de Beek’s struggles
The United fanbase were critical of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when the Norwegian would consistently shun the midfielder from his side and would start Scott McTominay and Fred over the Dutchman.
This would cause frustration amongst the fanbase as the midfielder impressed when he was given the opportunity in a deeper role.
When Ten Hag was appointed manager at Old Trafford, it was hoped that Van de Beek would be given his chance in the first team consistently but that never happened.
A move away from the club is the only way forward for the Dutch midfielder as he just cannot get a game for the Red Devils.
