Manchester United and Inter Milan have seemingly been ‘edging closer’ to an agreement for Andre Onana for days now, and yesterday was seemingly the day it was going to be closed but it remains ‘close’.

There were worries after Onana posted a photo of him in an Inter kit last night, but Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has seemingly quelled those worries with his latest update on the move.

According to Romano, there are no serious issues with the Onana deal and it is only a ‘matter of time’ before the sides get the final details sorted on the agreement and then it’s down to the paperwork.

Negotiations continue for Onana

Further to Romano’s report, Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto claimed that despite there being no final agreement the two clubs are ‘closer’ than they were on Wednesday, and after Thursday’s negotiations they are even closer, with negotiations set to continue today.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that there has been a full agreement between United and Inter with a fee reportedly £43 million + add-ons with an announcement reportedly expected today. Although, this report, though it’s exciting, it seems a bit fanciful that the deal would be announced today, but we wait with bated breath.

Zion Suzuki talks ongoing

Further to Romano’s update on Onana, he provided another update on Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who is currently playing for Urawa Red Diamonds. Romano claims that there are talks taking place on the player’s side, but United have three options for a backup goalkeeper and Suzuki is high on the list for United.

Although, Romano goes on to say that no talks are currently taking place club to club, this is due to the protracted negotiations with Inter for the former Ajax goalkeeper, Onana. Nevertheless, a deal is there to be done for the American-born goalkeeper.
