Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to travel to the UK to seal his move to Manchester United.

The Times had claimed yesterday that Andre Onana was due to fly to Manchester on Monday. This did not happen, with Onana spending the night stuck in Italy.

Now an update from Fabrizio Romano reports the new signing is set to fly to Manchester later today and touch down this evening.

He reports: “Understand André Onana will travel to Manchester later today, plan confirmed! Understand he will land in England around 7pm UK time.”

Onana medical

Andre Onana will either undergo a medical late tonight or tomorrow (Wednesday) before his move is confirmed.

Manchester United are meanwhile set to take a squad to Scotland for a friendly with Lyon at 2pm on Wednesday.

Afterwards, the squad will fly to the USA for the club’s pre-season tour, with a match against Arsenal on Saturday at 10pm UK time.

It is looking likely that Onana will be on the plane with his new teammates. He will become United’s second summer signing, following Mason Mount.

Onana has previously played alongside Antony and Lisandro Martinez at Ajax, and will become the club’s first choice goalkeeper.

The Athletic report he will cost an initial fee of £43.9 million.
