Fabrizio Romano has revealed one big detail of why Victor Osimhen’s potential transfer to Manchester United can’t currently progress.
Victor Osimhen is one of the world’s hottest prospects as a forward right now. Due to this, he’s going to cost a pretty penny, with Napoli reluctant to lose their star man.
The Mail report United believe it would cost around £130 million to sign Osimhen this summer.
However, recent news has come out that a deal can’t currently progress, down to one key factor.

Victor Osimhen’s transfer can’t currently progress
On Mark Goldbridge’s ‘That’s Football’ podcast, Romano gave the latest update on the Nigerian striker.
“For Victor Osimhen it’s important to know that to understand the final price tag, what’s going to be crucial is to understand more about the Napoli manager,” the Italian began.
“Because before they decide if they’re going to let him go or what price tag he will have, you have to pick the new manager and understand what’s going to happen with the director of football.
“The director of football is crucial to decide on these kinds of deals and Napoli still hasn’t clarified whether they will continue with their current or hire someone else.
“I think this is going to be very important in the final price tag. I see the rumours of 100m euros, but I’m told that’s absolutely not enough. Napoli will only sell the player if they can get a Serie A record.”
Romano also confirmed that United were definitely still interested in the striker. A ‘three horse race’ will ensue between Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain.
We’re going to have to wait a little while longer to see if anything happens with Osimhen. Sit tight, reds.
