Manchester United are showing some serious interest in bringing Carlos Baleba into the club this summer.
After signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, many assumed that the transfer kitty would be completely empty forcing Manchester United to settle for what they have.
However, this has not been the case, with attentions immediately switching to midfield and one of the Premier League’s best at that.
Ruben Amorim has suggested he wants a new midfielder this summer already and Carlos Baleba ticks almost every box.
United have identified Baleba as the perfect midfielder for Amorim this summer, and with the Cameroon international likely to cost upwards of £100m, it would be a massive statement to complete this deal.
In an effort to proactively sign Baleba, avoiding missing out on him next summer when his price tag skyrockets, United are trying to make a deal happen this summer, although it is considered very difficult.

Manchester United are talking to Brighton every day about Carlos Baleba
While difficult, this summer has shown that United won’t waste time trying to sign players who are unattainable, so given interest in Baleba has been ongoing for over a week, there must be a chance.
Attempts to make this deal happen are advancing, with United mulling over a bid. Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed the latest around the move, explaining that United are in talks with Brighton.
“Carlos Baleba, contacts are continuing on a daily basis with his agents and also with Brighton.
“For Manchester United to present an official bid and to understand if it is worth negotiating with Brighton, it is important to see outgoings.
“Selling players or finding solutions for players who are not part of the squad is really important.”
Continuing this, Romano explained on X that United’s sales will be potentially key for a higher bid to be made for Baleba this summer.
Luckily for United, there are a handful of players who are expected to be sold, and should raise a hefty amount between them, enough to possibly see the Red Devils crown a dream summer.
Fabrizio Romano shares update on Manchester United’s possible sales
For United, sales have been huge all summer, however at the time of writing there hasn’t been a single player sold, which explains why the club need to bring money in.
Romano provided an update on the players United could sell to fund this.
“For Alejandro Garnacho, talks in the background between Chelsea and Manchester United are well underway. Chelsea are working on this Garnacho deal, Chelsea have an agreement with Garnacho.
“So I know that maybe in the media it is not that present, but trust me, behind the scenes the Garnacho deal is very, very advanced. It is very, very active. United are prepared to sell Garnacho on a permanent transfer.”
“Then, Antony there is Betis interest, they are still working on the deal, lets see if they can financially do it, or other clubs will jump in.”
Romano then added that Jadon Sancho to Roma is a real possibility this summer, with a loan and obligation to buy reported on Thursday.
If United can raise £70m at least from the trio, you would assume that it would be spent on Garnacho.
