Manchester United are on the verge of signing Sofyan Amrabat with an agreement for the Fiorentina midfielder now in place.

This is shaping up to be a busy deadline day for United.

Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has finally had his move from Fenerbahce confirmed earlier today, arriving to compete with Andre Onana.

Left back Sergio Reguilon is poised to complete his loan switch from Tottenham Hotspur today too.

United needed more left back cover after Luke Shaw’s injury and Reguilon seems to be on the verge of joining.

The attention turns to a new midfielder and it looks like United are finally – finally – about to sign top target Amrabat.

Manchester United reach Sofyan Amrabat agreement

Fabrizio Romano claims that an agreement is now in place for United to sign Amrabat from Fiorentina today.

Romano gave the move his signature ‘here we go’ catchphrase, indicating that the deal is all but done.

Romano adds that Amrabat is now on his way to undergo a medical ahead of becoming a United player.

The Italian transfer insider adds that United are paying a €10million (£8.5million) loan fee with an option to buy for €25million next summer.

That would be made up of €20million (£17million) up front and €5million (£4.3million) in add-ons with United on the verge of another signing.

Erik ten Hag lands another of his former players

This is becoming quite the occurrence isn’t it?

We saw Ten Hag bring both Antony and Lisandro Martinez to United last summer, luring them over from Ajax.

Ten Hag continues to go for his former players now, having also snapped up his former Ajax stopper Onana.

Amrabat is next up having worked with Erik ten Hag at Utrecht two years before they went their separate ways.

An impressive, hard-working midfielder with real intensity, Amrabat seems like the ideal addition to help Casemiro either as a partner or as competition.
