Manchester United have received loan interest from Preston North End for academy midfielder Dan Gore, according to reports.
Dan Gore was handed his Manchester United debut during the Red Devils’ comfortable win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup but the teenage midfielder has not been seen since.
The academy graduate featured for the Red Devils during pre-season and looked to be a promising talent but has struggled to break into the first-team this season.
This has been due to Kobbie Mainoo’s emergence in the first team with the 18-year-old given a start at Anfield and breaking a record in the process.

Gore interest
The Manchester Evening News reports that Preston North End, who signed left-back Alvaro Fernandez on loan last season, are ready to raid Old Trafford for another academy graduate.
Gore has featured in nine matchday squad but, as mentioned, that substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup remains the midfielder’s only appearance in the first team for the Red Devils.
Preston are eighth in the Championship but were battered 5-1 at home by Watford on Saturday and are six points off a play-off place.
The midfielder certainly has the poise on the ball, similar to Mainoo in that aspect but also loves a tackle which could mean that a move to a Championship side would suit him down to the ground.
It certainly looks as if the young midfielder has the approval of Erik ten Hag, after his debut in the Carabao Cup, the Dutchman said: “It’s a good birthday for him, but I’m not a coach who gives opportunities to players [for no reason], they have to earn it. Once they earn it, they have their chance.
“They have to earn it every day in training. I don’t hand opportunities to young players. They must consistently prove their worth in training because if they don’t, it can affect the team.”
SEG interest
Similar to a lot of other players on United’s books, the agency SEG, who represent Ten Hag, Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat to name a few, are keen on signing up the teenage midfielder.
However, the teenage midfielder remains represented by his family members and it is perhaps a smart decision for the teenager’s family to take control of his future.
Gore needs game time away from Old Trafford and a loan move to the Championship could bring the best out of him, similar to how it did for Amad Diallo.
